Gliese 504

Giga Scrunchie in Blood Plum Tie-Dye

$34.95

These unique scrunchies are crafted using silk organza, preferably deadstock from local designers. This scrunchie is the most unique hair accessory you will ever own! Each one is different from one another as these are hand-dyed and hand-made. This is an oversized scrunchie (we think you can tell) as it uses more fabric than other mass-market scrunchies. Because of this it will show a lot of volume and stand out on your hair.

Size

The Giga size is a unique size for a scrunchie. We don’t know of anyone else doing a scrunchie this big! Because of the size if you tie it at the back of your head, it will likely show from the front too. It’s a show-stopper! Not for everyone, but certainly for those who dare. Because these scrunchies are made of lightweight silk organza they will stay upright without collapsing and will be still light on your hair.

How to Style It

This scrunchie is made with a generous amount of fabric and a thin elastic. The fit will depend a lot on what kind of hair you have, yet it suits all types. We always recommend not more than two loops for all three sizes (mini, mega, giga). Most people loop them only once. These are more decorative scrunchies and less functional ones, so always style your hair with an elastic band first and then pop the scrunchie over. For some styles (hand-dyed) you can gently style it by dragging the edge out so it sits in a way where the dye you want to see is showing.

Dimensions

Mini: 15 to 18cm diameter

Mega: 20 cm diameter

Giga: 25 cm diameter

Materials

Talking about wearable art…this scrunchie is hand-dyed by us! They are very delicate but also very precious! Please keep it away from water, if possible. These scrunchies are made with silk organza (natural fiber) therefore they will scrunch/ wrinkle. The scrunched effect is beautiful but if you prefer the smooth/ironed look you can always use a bit of steam (from a hot iron or steamer) to bring it back to the original shape. These scrunchies are closed with glue, so you can open them, cut the elastic, iron them out and replace with a new elastic (thread the elastic using a safety pin). Then put the two glue edges together and iron so they will close.
